In the area of Safety, Health, Welfare and Environment (SHE), MOT's policy is aimed at ensuring the safety and protecting the health of its employees, as well as preventing damage to the environment and property. Both our own staff and that of contractors working on our premises have contributed significantly to achieving this objective.
Employees and contractors who perform maintenance work must be in possession of a safety passport. This is one of the means by which a large number of companies, united in the interest group Deltalinqs, guarantee safety in the Rotterdam port and industrial area.
Safety and environment
Safety and environment take a prominent place in both external and internal consultations. There is also regular constructive consultation with DCMR Environmental Service Rijnmond. Considerable investments are made annually in the field of Safety and Environment.
In harmony with nature
Continuous attention to safety and the environment contribute to the Maasvlakte Olie Terminal being in harmony with the nature that is abundantly present on the Maasvlakte. For example, there are many types of grass, protected flower species and even orchids to be found on and around the terminal.
Bees at the MOT
Bees are also kept on our premises. According to experts, they produce excellent MOT honey. At MOT, safe and efficient work goes hand in hand with care for people and nature.
In recognition of the integration of care for nature and business operations and the way in which the company premises are maintained, MOT received the Horti Port Award in 1999. The Horti Port Award is presented by the Municipal Port Authority to companies that distinguish themselves in a positive way through the design and maintenance of the outdoor space.
